Malabou, Nancy and Derrida /[electronic resource] :Jean-Paul Martinon. - Basingstoke [England] ;Palgrave Macmillan,2007. - xii, 224 p. - Renewing philosophy.
Includes bibliographical references (p. 192-221) and index.
PART 1: Voir Venir: Catherine Malabou's The Future of Hegel -- PART 2: Survenue: Jean-Luc Nancy's The "There is" of Sexual Relations -- PART 3: Venue: Jacques Derrida's Aporias.
This book proposes an exploration of the many meanings attached to the notion of futurity (what is to come) in the work of Jacques Derrida,Catherine Malabou and Jean-Lucy Nancy. In order to make sense of thesemany meanings, this book focuses on the act of translation. It concentrates not on the future of translation, but on its deployment in time. Overall, it provides an original introduction to the work of two contemporary French thinkers (Malabou and Nancy), an unusual insight into thelater work of Derrida, and makes a creative contribution to the way deconstruction deals with translation and how the issue of the future canbe addressed without making any projections or predictions.
