西藏少女展開千里長征徒步到印度追尋自由當台灣青少年在面對學業與感情的煩惱時,十六歲的西藏少女貝瑪則陷在生離死別的磨難.貝瑪的父親為了西藏自由策劃非暴力抗爭,不幸被中國當局逮捕,家中頓失支柱;而摯友覺姆(藏語,尼姑之意)也面臨政治迫害,勸說貝瑪一同翻山越嶺遠赴印度,追尋不被打壓的自由.貝瑪繼承了父親對自由的渴望,想要跟隨覺姆遠走,又想等到父親平安歸來.面對需要照看的家人,走與不走都令貝瑪掙扎萬分,但每天所見的青稞田依然寧靜如故,靜靜鎮守著人間的別離.
